Making Space for Everyone at Space-Comm Expo Scotland

How quickly a week flies by! This time last week we were attending day 2 of Space-Comm Expo Scotland and preparing for our roundtable discussion co-chaired with Victoria Christmas from Orange Tree Partnership.

To discuss how to increase accessibility, inclusivity and flexibility in the Space sector with such a passionate group was incredible. Thank you to everyone who attended and for making it such a lively and informative session. It was also extremely valuable to share the questions and comments from those who could not be present at the roundtable and it was indeed a pleasure to hear thought leadership ideas on how to make space for everyone.

We all took something away that we learned around the table - thank you to all who took part!

We're looking forward to publishing the results from the roundtable into a summary document, and sharing it with those involved plus all interested parties, and to also feed back into other bodies and initiatives, e.g. UK Space, the Space Skills Alliance and the RISE Together initiative, to ensure that suggested actions are shared.. Please watch this 'space' for an announcement on where to access this.

We'd also like to extend our congratulations to Victoria Christmas who the very same day also launched her mentoring initiative for undergraduate students looking to move into the space industry, called ‘Lift off - stay grounded’ 👏 A huge achievement which we are sure will be highly beneficial for students and deeply rewarding for mentors 💫 You can read more about it here: www.losg.co.uk
