Technology moves fast and although computing equipment is becoming more and more of a necessity, it still comes with a luxury price tag. Some schools and parents/carers simply can’t afford computing equipment or devices and this limits opportunities and life outcomes for these children, both at school and at home.
Level of privilege and lack of opportunity should never be a barrier to learning. We strive for digital inclusivity, it's a core value that has driven the development of our coding adventures. Within each of our educational experiences, children engage with unplugged or low/no cost tech activities deliberately and specifically designed to teach coding concepts without expensive tech or equipment which require everyday items, making them accessible for all schools.
And, through a substantial grant awarded to us by the UK Civil Aviation Authority and the Department for Transport, we're aiming to reach even more schools and youth groups with children who may not otherwise be aware of career opportunities within the aerospace sector, and give them the fantastic opportunity to see aerospace role models they can relate to!
