COP29 Azerbaijan Starts

Today marks the start of COP29 (the Conference of Parties) which this year is taking place in Baku, Azerbaijan.

In a series of formal meetings, representatives of governments from across the globe, gather to assess global efforts and progress in reducing greenhouse gases as set out in the Paris Agreement, signed in April 2016. We're keen to hear what agreements the delegates will reach this year and what positive impacts their discussions will have for the future of our planet.

AL the Robot and 'Professor' Trice from Get with the Program are standing in front of a graphic drawing of Earth. 'Professor' Trice is pointing up to a drawing of a newspaper front page with the headline: 'World leaders meet in Baku, Azerbaijan for COP29' and further copy of: 'Will they agree on positive ways to protect our planet? And how can the tech innovators of the future help?' At the top of the image is the Get with the Program logo and at the bottom the URL: www.getwiththeprogram.org.uk/eco-coding

We know how passionate young people are about the environment and the importance of finding sustainable ways to help live 'greener' for the benefit of us all and future generations. That is why we designed our Eco Coding Adventure for 5-9 year-olds and our Net Zero Coding Adventure for 11-13 year-olds to tap into this inherent desire to find solutions to save the planet!

Reinforcing positive role models and smashing stereotypes, our fun and interactive coding adventures teach children that there is a place in STEM based careers no matter their socio-economic background, gender or ethnicity.

We believe that with the power of technology, in the hands of the tech innovators of the future, amazing things can happen. Are you ready to join us on our mission?
